November rain
seeps into my bones
the Sunday's cheer
dampened by wetness.
The shrieks of children
turn to dismay
Their conical hats
stowed for the
next Halloween
I turn the page
next year is nigh
All Souls gather

a sheet of slate
a torchlight peeps
in a room gone dark.
