Untramelled by the din
of Nuvem traffic.
At peak hours 
we looked for your help 
as you paused vehicles
to let us pass.
Young and old
you touched their lives
always standing
never sitting
keeper of the gate.
You did your job
Always smiling 
ever helpful

Jose Miranda (1979-2026) from Nuvem, Goa passed away on 12 March 2026 at Erode in Tamil Nadu while travelling to Velankanni. He is survived by his wife and two children.
