Note
Harish Rana (31) died at AIIMS, New Delhi, on 24th March 2026 after being given passive euthanasia. This was the first case in India in which permission was granted by the Supreme Court - after his parents petitioned it. Harish was in coma since 2013, after sustaining brain injuries after a fall from a hostel room in Panjab University, Chandigarh on the fourth floor when he was 18. The family hails from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh in North India.
