What I really love about the ongoing Kerala Literature Festival are the posters. Sharing some of them here.
The design template is minimalist yet pleasing to the eye. The soft tones make you want to deep dive into the session.
My fav is the session tomorrow at 11 a.m. The session celebrates hybridity and is fabulously titled 'When Don Quixote Dances: The Making of Kijote Kathakali.'
Having recently visited Sikkim and having the opportunity to perch over Tibet on the India-China border at Nathu La, I am drawn to the session on Tibet. Titled, 'Last of Earth: A Novel of Exile, Identity and Tibetan Life,' it seems a succinct reminder of the travails of the Tibetan people.
DC books are old friends of mine. They have a strong list in left literature translated into Malayalam. Specially Che Guevara. I discovered this when I was in MES Ponani: The College by the Sea.
Kerala, besides its cuisine, is a haven for book lovers. Their hospitality is legendary - as it was for me in Pandalam, where I presented a paper on Chennai Express for a seminar on popular film. I just texted Ranjith in the morning today. We are still friends. He comes to Goa for the International Film Festival of India (iffi). May literature continue to create bridges of hope.
