| Jalgaon Station |
-Brian Mendonca
From the banks
of the Hooghly
you came
to take me home.
Just an overnight journey
to Pune from Jalgaon
On a Saturday night
it seems so right
to reach for Sunday Mass
at City Church
and a table groaning
with love and home food.
So near, yet so far
What do space and time decree?
Chilling out in Central India
the West must wait.

Suleman Rahim Khan (21) was dragged out of a cafe in Jalgaon by a group of people, paraded in different villages, and beaten to death in front of his family on 11 August 2025. The group felt offended that he was talking to a teenage girl from another community.
