Human to canine
there are worlds to learn
Beyond the rat race
or what you can earn.
Four of family
laid to rest.
King Shaka, the hound
who made this land, home
and us complete.

Notes
-Shaka, male (2008-2017) and Zulu, female (2008-2023) were hounds of Karthik (in pic, right) and Ingrid Davey. The burial site also inters the remains of their offspring Jabu Senior and Simba.
- Shaka Zulu (1787-1828): King of the Zulu kingdom in Africa.
-The Faithful Hound (1830): name of a painting by British painter Henry Landseer. Napolean is said to have been moved at the loyalty of the hound who grieves over the passing of his master.
