USS Arizona, warship of the US navy, was hit by Japanese war planes at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, the headquarters of the US Pacific Fleet, at 7.55 a.m. on Sunday, 7 December 1941. Around 1,177 sailors perished. The site is now a memorial.
On the 50th anniversary of this event KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Arizona did a story for broadcast. It was written by Executive Producer, Rod Haberer, and presented by anchor Kent Dana. The TV script can be read here.
