Good Luck Charlie (2010-2014) is an American sitcom focussing on the lives of an American family who grow up facing life - with often hilarious results.
The story of each episode is told by Teddy, the only teenage daughter of the house, and is recorded on her videolog (vlog). The obsession to record the minutiae of life - including baby Charlie's poop and vomit - is just like what some teens of today are wont to do.
The sitcom by Disney Channel has 4 seasons. The first season has 24 episodes.
All the characters have their own arc of development. The story remains fresh and in the same episode each character is up to something.
The sitcom was first viewed by our group members at 8 years of age in 2004. They remembered they would rush home after Catechism classes to watch an episode.
Now in their teenage years they identify with Teddy and connect with the serial on a deeper level. While in the past they laughed at the slapstick humour, now they are sensitive to themes like boyfriends; dress sense; trying to live up to the expectations of your parents; and what it means to actually baby-sit your brother.
'Parents do not have time to spend with their children now,' said one of the group members. The Duncan family gave them a sense of family.
The serial was adapted for Indian audiences in Hindi and streamed as Best of Luck Niki (2011-2016) also by Disney.
