For today's Sunday sermon for the  children's Mass Fr. Caetano beautifully linked the First Reading to traditional Goan hospitality. 

He said that in olden times a loft or a maddi used to be built in the house for the wayfarer. This space was used by the traveller to rest for the night. The traveller would be provided basic necessities.
