Today's reading from Exodus 14: 5-18 shows how the Israelites cavilled against Moses even when he was leading them out of Egypt to a better place.
They could not have known that the Lord would ask Moses to stretch out his hand and part the Red sea, so that they could cross over. Moses would also close the waters so the sea would engulf the pursuing Egyptian cavalry.
