on my way
I pass by 'Shaikh Marble'
Words
Etched on black marble
Proclaim one's status in life
-or the loss of a life.
DELMIRA VALES
is pinioned to a cross.
CATERERS comes next.
Some etchings are in Devanagri.
They lie bereft
beyond the pale
of the closed shutters
of the shop.
Waiting for the owner
to pick them up.
I remind my self
Any day
my life could
provide the text
for an epitaph.
Drive carefully.
