Context
Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) was an Austrian composer. By the time he wrote this, the baroque harpsichord was abandoned for the piano. In the E flat sonata Haydn - like many of his day - is exploring the dynamics and range of this new instrument. He composed 62 piano sonatas.
