Context
Frederic Chopin (1810-1849) was a Polish teacher and composer. He is known for his piano works. He was averse to giving concerts. In the first performance of this work in Paris in 1848 - and Chopin's final concert - the first movement was not played as it was seen as 'over-elaborate.' Yet, being one of the last works he composed in his all too brief life, it is the apogee of his genius. Chopin passed on, the next year in Paris - where he is buried. But his heart is interred in Warsaw.
