The morning sunshine
brilliant as in May
scalds the curtainstangerine in hue.
The very double-bed
in light incandescent
seems uplifted to the skies
like a magic carpet,
to rove with the clouds
imperious and cottony,
like strokes from Cezanne.
The insistent parrot
the raucous crow
the timid pigeon
the bulbul
all trill in tow.
The patchy green lawn
awaits the rains.
It's only 8 a.m.
on the clocks
in the house
And we are already
drenched in bliss.
