When we selected 'Emmanuel'/ ('God is with us') for the carol nite at our parish, we were wondering how it would turn out. After sourcing the Konkani carol, we gave extra care to practise getting the words, the tune, the pitch, and the rhythm right.
Practices were in the evenings at our place at 6.30, which made it possible for singers to come after work. On the day of the performance the brief carol received a good response. We were happy we sang in the church and gave our best.
Sincere thanks to Fr. Adolfo Alvares, parish priest of Holy Family Church, and the team for organizing zone-wise carol singing on a non-competition basis. The rich plum cake given to the troupe from each zone was a thoughtful gesture and much appreciated.
All thanks to the zest and dedication of the singers who lent their melodious voices to put the Konkani carol on stage.
