Today we visited the Campal swimming complex. We had heard a lot about it and were curious to know more.
From Panjim bus stand one has to come towards Miramar beach and turn right, before Crossword bookstore, into the lane going to FabIndia. There is ample parking and on the fringes flows the Mandovi river heading out to the sea.
A gorgeous sight met our eyes. All the pools (there are 3) looked so inviting. Being a public holiday today the complex was closed. Yet it was Ramakant who was at his post and who showed us around.
There is a baby pool, a regular pool, and an Olympic size one. Depending on your capacity you can choose where you want to swim.
There are stands where spectators can sit as they wait for their family members or friend to finish swimming. The entry to the complex is through a ramp. Waiting to swim here!
Before that one needs a fitness certificate, a couple of photos, and a copy of one's Aadhar card. The monthly fee is Rs. 750 for adults with ₹50 for a one-sided dip for 1 hour. For children it is ₹250 per month, and ₹20 for a dip.
