Banjarans by the sea
walking single file
white shirts billowing
over ebony skin.
Wife, husband, sons
-with their bare belongings -
on a Saturday morn.
India at their feet
passing through paradise.

Receive some raiment
O Sarvajna
for succour from the wind and rain
May your footsteps
leave their imprint
Of your joyous labour.
Anoint your kin
with your mirth for life.
